The Committee
Here is the committee for the 2013/2014 season, we are all here to bring this club to success and to provide great nights out and events throughout the year. Any questions feel free to ask any of us, here's a little bit about ourselves and what our role is:
Nathan Studholme - Chairman
I'm Nathan Studholme and this is going to be my last year at DMU meaning my last year as a DMUFC player, so I want to go out with a bang. This club has made my time at university a quality experience. I am honoured to be Chairman of this fantastic club, its capabilities are evident so I will be doing my utmost to bring big success to the club. I want to provide the best possible experience for all members of this club, with constant opportunities for you to get involved on and off the pitch.
On the pitch I have been very successful at DMUFC with my first year playing in the third team of which we finished higher in the league than our second team and let’s not forget the 8 - 0 win against the scum at varsity. This year just gone I was given the captaincy of the second team and a committee role as secretary, we managed to win the league and win varsity on penalties which was phenomenal.
The social side of the club has been superb meaning each week I can't wait to go to a Wednesday social to have a few quiet ones, hurrrrrr. A very big part of most DMUFC careers is going on tour. This is a huge highlight and is something not to be missed as you will find out.

INTERESTING FACT: My uncle is the producer of FIFA!

PLAYER I MOST RESEMBLE: Without doubt David Beckham.

Connor Rankin - Vice Chairman
This year I’ll be your running Vice chairman at DMUFC. After quite a crazy year as social secretary the year before I'm looking forward to passing the social side of the club down and concentrate on running some work that goes on behind the scenes alongside the chairman. New members of the club will soon see I probably am the most underrated footballer at the club who just hasn’t had his chance to make it at the top yet. I possess a weapon of a right foot and a filthy bag of pace, often scoring for fun. I’m looking forward to another great footballing year with DMUFC, hopefully winning all 5 varsities; something which I'm confident this club can do after winning 4 last year.
INTERESTING FACT: Did some crazy shit on tour which I’ll probably regret when I'm married.
PLAYER I MOST RESEMBLE: Andrea Pirlo.

Sam Vinden - Club Captain
(Vinny) I’ll be your club captain this year supporting Connor and Nath behind the scenes. Despite thinking I’m better than Neymar, and scoring two screamers in varsity, not many people appreciate my football talent, which is why I am more renowned for my drinking and you’ll be sure to see me at most socials throughout the year. If I have any advice for freshers, it would be to join a sports team and go on tour, it will be the best week of your year hands down! I’m excited to nurture the new crop of talented drinkers and ballers, Bring on September!!
INTERESTING FACT: Quickest DMUFC pint (now Telf has left).
PLAYER I MOST RESEMBLE: Ryan Shawcross – Unbeatable in the air, but very average everywhere else.

Joe Taylor - Secretary
Alright boys, I’m Taylor and I’m your Secretary for the forthcoming year. You probably will not be seeing me do too much as I operate behind the scenes helping the club run as smoothly as possible.Last year we had an amazing set of fresher’s that helped to push our society forward retaining it as the best on campus and I see no reason why our next group can not do exactly the same!We had an extremely successful season on and off the pitch and I can only see this club going forward and becoming even better. Even if you do not play we accept anyone to come and join because at the end of the day we want to just get together and have a good laugh with a few or a lot of beers!I look forward to seeing you all at trials and at our socials that happen every Wednesday.

INTERESTING FACT: I once bailed out my mates from a Greece prison with a bet on Eden Dzeko for Man City.

PLAYER I MOST RESEMBLE: Ben Shepard (he is a presenter but he must of played football for someone, right?)

Liam Wadd - Social Secretary
I’m Waddy and I’m one half of your social secs this year. Some say the better looking half. I started being a apart of DMUFC in my second year of university and if I could change anything about my time, I would of joined in my first year! However I more than made up for it by simply taking part! Joining this society has been the highlight of my University life and I cannot wait to spend another year with this group of lads. I was very much the target of the committee last year due to myself piping up in the wrong situations.. However this never goes unpunished!
I also recommend joining a team, I played in the 2nd team last year and had the best year of football! We finished top of the league and won our varsity on penalties! Beating the Scum is a highlight in every DMUFC players career.
I can’t finish without mentioning tour, it is hands down the best week of your life. You won’t be able to remember much of it, but the photos will haunt you! Its a must do whilst at uni!

INTERESTING FACT: It’s well known that Pixie Lott is proper into me... she even follows me on twitter
PLAYER I MOST RESEMBLE: Cesc Fabregas thinks he is me.

Mostyn Rowley - Social Secretary

The rumours are true; I will be 50% of your social sec this year; even though physically & mentally it’s more like 75-80%. I’ve been a part of DMUFC for only a year & it’s easily the best decision I’ve made at uni. Whether you’re good at drinking (Vinny), bad at football (Pompey), have terrible hair (Rankin/Winney) are big (Tree), or little (Tomo), if you’re fat (Wilson) or even skinny (Waddy) – everyone’s welcome. It’s a great place to find some guys with a similar interest to yourself – and if you can handle the banter then you’ll fit right in. Oh yeah; come on tour. I’ll explain why later.
INTERESTING FACT: DMUFC spent £3,000 on goal netting this year alone – due to the power of my left boot.
PLAYER I MOST RESEMBLE: It’s not a coincidence that Lionel Messi is left footed aswell/Kimbo Slice if he played football.

Adam Redfern - Media Secretary
Hello there, I’m Adam (AKA Derby) because of where I’m from (genius I know) and I will be your Media Secretary for the season 2013/14. This will be my final year at DMUFC and I want to make the most of it. Joining this club has been the easiest decision I have made in life. Whether you want to play or just be part of the club, you will meet a great bunch of lads and have an awesome time along the way. Lucky enough for me I have had the chance to play in the two years I have been here for both the third and fourth teams. I have had some highs and lows, but the lows aside, there has not been one minute I have not enjoyed. Representing your university is a proud achievement, especially when winning varsity which I was fortunate enough to do in my first year. Last year wasn’t as successful for me playing under Liam Coleman (your 2013/14 Kits and Equipment) but playing under him and with a great bunch of players was just as enjoyable as my first year, if not more. That’s what this club does to you; it puts you in a good mood whatever the outcome. I’m sure that this year’s committee will be stronger than ever and will ensure that this club continues its recent success. In terms of my role I will ensure that the club gets the media coverage it deserves across the Demon Media strands of ‘The Demon’, ‘Demon FM’ and ‘Demon TV’. I have been the Sports Editor of ‘The Demon’ for the past two years and work on the award-winning Sports Team for ‘Demon FM’. It is my aim to make sure that the successes of this club do not go unnoticed. Apart from me running around on the football pitch, you are likely to see me running around campus juggling my Demon Media job and my dissertation. It’s going to be a busy year- but I can’t wait.
PLAYER I MOST RESEMBLE: Everyone says I look like Laurent Koscielny. However with my versatility, composure on the ball and pace, I would say I most resemble Branislav Ivanovic, with the energy levels of Leighton Baines.
INTERESTING FACT: I’ve represented my county and reached the last 32 of 512 in the National Cup for my college team.

Aaron Hare - Treasurer
I am Aaron Hare and I have the responsibility of ensuring that, we as a club do not overspend as well as hounding certain individuals to ‘pay up’, eventually becoming a hate figure for some. I am entering my 2nd year at university and can promise everybody contemplating joining our amazing club, that this won’t be a decision you will regret, as this club is far from just football with events such as social etc. DMUFC will make your year outstanding.
INTERESTING FACT: I wear a size 13 shoe/trainer and can’t buy shoes in store
PLAYER I MOST RESEMBLE: Costel Pantilimon
Jack Thomson - Health & Safety
I'm Jack Thomson aka tomo. This years health and safety. My job is to ensure you all feel safe on and of the pitch. I'm passionate about the club and would love to see this club to stay as the most successful sports team at this university!
INTERESTING FACT: Possibly quickest pint? (I'm open to challengers)
PLAYER I MOST RESEMBLE: Adebayo Akinfenwa

Liam Coleman - Kits & Equipment
Alright lads! I'm your kits and equipment for this year, and will keep you all looking dashing and handsome all year!
I'm the guy you will need to get in touch with if you are after any training kit, I will be taking bulk orders at different points in the year, and will be sorting you all out, to make sure we all look the part and that every team looks as dapper as you like!
I was third team manager last year so have already been a member of the committee, and made sure my team was if anything one of the best dressed last year! I have already been at the heart of what this football club is about and look forward to another sick year as part of the best society at university!
If you want any kit, or have any questions about kit feel free to message me on Facebook or anything and I will try and do my best to sort you out!

INTERESTING FACT: I once nutmegged Gary Linekar in a charity football match.

PLAYER I MOST RESEMBLE: Alan Shearer/Dimitar Berbatov because Shearer is Geordie and my idol, and Berbatov because I have the grace of Ibrahimovic and the big nose too!
